Outremer in the Press!

Hi all; apologies for the delay between posts. Unfortunately I have been away with my full-time, real-world job for a while so it has impacted on hobby time! Don’t you just hate it when real life persistently gets in the way of toy soldiers!!

Well for those of you who are avid gamers you may have noticed that this month Outremer: Faith and Blood is featured heavily in the latest issue of Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy Magazine (Issue 95 in case you were wondering).

You may be aware that I have written for this magazine as a freelance Wargames journalist for the past few years and it is in fact the place where my first professional Wargames articles and rules were published way back in 2015.

Therefore when the noble editor Mr Guy Bowers approached me for another piece it made perfect sense for me to pen an article for them about my up-and-coming new game.

The article itself takes a deeper look at the game; it’s creation and systems and is as always accompanied by some full colour shots of my models in action during playtesting.

For those of you who are planning on buying the game (which is hopefully everyone reading this post - :-)  ) there is also a freebie in the article! I have kindly written a whole new scenario that can be used with the game and should provide players additional tactical opportunities and challenges for their fighters.

Additionally there are detailed stats and costings for a new mercenary sellsword in the form of a Mercenary Foot Knight. Mercenaries are a key element of the game and this new character is a hard-hitting, brutal melee warrior who will provide some much needed power to Christian Warbands early on in campaigns!

Aside from my article there is also an in-depth, independent review of the game in the back of the magazine. I am pleased to say that it is very positive so that tells me I’ve done something right in the rules writing process!!

As well as my article there are loads of other interesting pieces in this issue so I encourage you to grab a copy either in your local store or online at the following link:
